Folk singer/songwriter Mary McCaslin will call in to host Eli Polonsky for a telephone interview, and to help us ask for your support during WMBR's 2008 fundraising drive, at around 1:00 PM!
Mary McCaslin began recording in 1968, but it was when she began to define her writing style in the early '70s with her own vivid musical imagery and stories of the American prairie and the "Old West" that she became recognized for her original music, as well as for her own unique folk-styled cover versions of popular songs ranging from the Supremes to the Beatles. By the mid-1970s, Mary became a popular touring folk performer, and her music was frequently played on the former folk music station WCAS here in Cambridge.
Mary will be performing with longtime local acoustic folk/blues master Geoff Bartley at the Clarendon Hill Presbyterian Church in Somerville on Saturday, November 15. More information is available here. We will also be offering tickets to this concert in exchange for your generous pledges, so please tune in and help support WMBR during our annual fundraising week!
