Jon Anderson, founding member of British progressive rock band Yes, is scheduled to be interviewed by telephone by host Eli Polonsky at 12:30 PM EDT!
Known for soaring alto-tenor (not falsetto!) vocals, mystic lyrics, and complex epic-length compositions, Anderson was lead vocalist and principal songwriter for Yes in their "classic" period from 1968 through 1980, and reformation from 1983 through their 35th anniversary tour in 2004.
After recuperation from asthmatic respiratory failure in 2008, Anderson toured solo playing songs from the Yes repertoire and new projects, and in 2014, teamed with jazz-rock violin legend Jean-Luc Ponty to form the six-piece Anderson-Ponty Band, offering new interpretations of music from the catalogues of both artists.
The Anderson-Ponty Band will be at The Cabot Theatre Beverly, MA on May 20, listen for your chance to win tickets!
Location: 88.1 FM
