PATNAUSEAM (OMICRON SUBVARIANT Edition): No Easy Way Down
Hosted by:
Originally aired:
"No Easy Way Down" was a nugget from Brill Building power couple Gerry Goffin & Carole King, recorded by obscure group Germz (later rechristened Lit Candle), and lesser known acts like the pre-Allman Brothers group Hour Glass and American Breed. Then came Dusty Springfield and her landmark Dusty in Memphis LP (not actually recorded in Memphis) to offer what writer/realtor/rocker Bill Janovitz described, correctly as "a definitive version," delivering the "graceful lyrics" with "soulful compassion." We'll hear two hours of this song.
