Chuck Berry's 1955 Top 5 hit, one of the earliest hits regarded in real time as Rock n Roll, was a remake/remodel of folk and western swing tune Ida Red (as rendered by Bob Wills), updated by the 30-year old midwestern to the reflect swinging teenage inflammations. Berry's first single an amazing amalgam of country, rockabilly, jazz, and blues. And it's likely the start of rock n roll music. We'll hear two hours of this song.
