From 1973-1978 the band Television reigned as one of the most influential bands in the New York rock scene, delivering an art-punk sound with few if any equals. Their album "Marquee Moon" was ranked #2 in the UK magazine Uncut's "100 Greatest Debut Records" (#1 is "The Velvet Underground and Nico" and #3 is Jimi Hendrix's "Are You Experienced"), and Pitchfork Media's list of the best albums of the '70s has it at #3. Richard Lloyd, along with Tom Verlaine, played guitar in Television, and his new book "Everything is Combustible: Television, CBGB's and Five Decades of Rock and Roll" was released this past fall. Tune in and you will also hear about his '60s run-ins with Jimi Hendrix, Keith Richards, John Lee Hooker, and more. Plenty of music as well. Hosted by Bob Dubrow.
