Host Eli Polonsky makes a one-off return to "Lost & Found" for his annual Halloween special, and at 1 PM, a live telephone interview with former Grateful Dead keyboardist Tom Constanten.
Constanten met future Dead bassist Phil Lesh in 1961 at UC Berkeley studying avant-garde classical music. He went on to study with composers Berio, Pousseur, Boulez and Stockhousen and performed with Steve Reich. Tom contributed prepared piano, harpsichord and organ to Dead albums "Anthem of The Sun" and "Aoxomoxoa". He joined their tour in 1968 performing on "Live Dead", considered the peak of their '60s live performances, and at Woodstock. Tom left them amicably in 1970, rejoining briefly at the Fillmore East in April, 1971.
Tom will perform on Halloween with "Live Dead & Riders '69" at The Wilbur in Boston recreating a 1969 Dead concert with members of bands Ratdog, Phil Lesh & Friends, Jefferson Starship and New Riders of The Purple Sage, performing a vintage New Riders opening set. Listen for your chance to win tickets!
