Two Hour Special and Interview with Adrian Belew (solo, Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Talking Heads, King Crimson) on WMBR's Lost & Found Program

Hot guitarist Adrian Belew was treated for a while like a hot potato: discovered by Frank Zappa in 1977 (while playing in a cover band), poached by David Bowie, and then joining Talking Heads. After the barely two year stints with each of these groundbreaking artists, he settled in for a while with King Crimson and concurrently began his long solo career, releasing about 20 solo albums over the last 38 years. His playing is at times wildly idiosyncratic avant-rock, at others melodic a la The Beatles,perhaps the cornerstone for his work. Adrian is a gem and recognized as such by many acclaimed artists and fans (Nine Inch Nails and Laurie Anderson have also utilized his talents). Here is part of his story. Adrian Belew is playing April 18 at the Natick Center for the Arts in Natick, MA and April 19 at the Narrows Center of the Arts in Fall River, MA.
