Reed Foehl will join WMBR's Three Ring Circus today at 5pm
Reed Foehl first jumped onto the music industry radar as the lead singer of the Boulder CO based jam band Acoustic Junction (Mercury/Capricorn). He has now just released his second solo album entitled Stoned Beautiful (Red Parlor Records). Born in Boston, Reed grew up in Dover MA and lived Massachusetts until moving to Boulder CO in the early 1990s. Foehl has always maintained close ties to New England and Stoned Beautiful was recorded at Substation Studio located in a converted 1850 railroad station in Housatonic, MA. Producer Jerry Krenach brought elegant, rootsy textures to this recording by using instruments such as a vintage 1922 parlor guitar, distorted pedal steel, flugelhorn and mandola, creating a unique framework for Reed's songs. "I think it?s the first record that I?ve recorded that comes the closest to a true representation of my music and where I come from. There was a great vibe happening on these sessions. Although it?s a studio recording all the songs were basically live takes... There is no fancy cover up just the raw, real truth." says Reed.
