Annie Haslam has been the bewitching vocalist in Renaissance since their third album in 1972, her voice ranging across five octaves as she's led the band through its classically orchestral and folk rock music tapestries. Renaissance was founded in 1969 by two members (Jim McCarty and Keith Relf) of a broken Yardbirds, but after three years an entire personnel change led to the sound they are recognized for by prog rock cognoscenti. It's their 50th anniversary year and Haslam still leads her merry band forward. Renaissance brings it to the Tupelo Music Hall in Derry, NH on Thursday, October 17 and Boston's City Winery on Friday, October 18. Yardbird and founder Jim McCarty will be joining them on a couple of songs.
