There will be a pre-recorded interview and performance with Danny Barnes at around 5pm.
Having plucked tunes with the proto-punk-bluegrass outfit, Bad Livers, toured with Robert Earl Keen, scored music for Richard Linklater (The Newton Boys) and taught jazz legend Bill Frisell how to play banjo and also collaborated with him, Danny Barnes cannot be confined within specific musical boundaries. Name dropping aside, his picking makes my jaw drop. Banjo or guitar, he is simply in a class all his own. His new release, Barnyard Electronics, explores natural and manmade sounds as the title suggests, into a rhythmic and sometimes hypnotic excursion. We're thrilled to have him join the Circus plucking and a strumming from the comfort of his Port Townsend, WA studio (hmmm... could it be in the "barnyard"?).
