Nektar were a bunch of Brits using Germany as their home base while they delivered eight LPs of psychedelia and prog from 1971-1980, after which they folded and stayed silent for 20 years. The concept album was their forte, songs seguing in others, showcasing a creative restlessness with fantastic themes of other worlds, both outer and inner. In this writer's opinion, and I was only peripherally aware of Nektar during their heyday, they never got their due in the progressive rock firmament. Original bassist Derek Moore, who has rejoined the band after his brief reappearance in 2002, invites us into Nektar's world as they celebrate their brand new release "The Other Side." Nektar appears at the Middle East in Cambridge on Monday, February 10.
Location: 88.1 FM
