There will be a pre-recorded interview and performance with Jason Isbell at around 5pm. Jason Isbell (ex-Drive-by Truckers) stopped by the WMBR studios when he was in town recently, touring his new solo debut, Sirens of the Ditch (New*West). Sirens was recorded at Muscle Shoals' FAME recording studios where such greats as Aretha Franklin, Duane Allman, and Otis Redding recorded. It is also Isbell's hometown. The release is a continuation of the soulful song writing and performance he contributed to the Drive-by Truckers with a special homage to Muscle Shoals that includes guest musicians Spooner Oldham and David Hood, plus members of the Drive-by Truckers. Isbell talks about the new release, life after the DBT, and his growing addiction for bar trivia. He also performs a couple songs from the new release. Not to be missed.
