Mike Gent joins WMBR's 3 Ring Circus Program

The Figgs have tore up many a stage with their power pop hooks and bratty punk rock attack, attracting the likes of Graham Parker and Tommy Stinson (Replacements) who they have backed on tour. Figgs frontman, Mike Gent has been releasing solo material and will stop by the WMBR studios to chat about his latest self-titled release (Stomper) and play a few tunes. The influence of touring with Parker must have had an impact on this release which feels like a updated version of the pub rock sounds of the early 70s. And that?s a very good thing. Mike will open for Rhett Miller at the Paradise on May 14, but we?ll get a special Friday afternoon show on May 8th, 5pm.
