Author Richie Unterberger interviewed about new Velvet Underground book on WMBR's Lost & Found Program

Veteran music writer and journalist Richie Unterberger, author of many comprehensive books focusing on the music and artists of the 1960s, will be interviewed by telephone by host Eli Polonsky about his latest book "White Light/White Heat: The Velvet Underground Day By Day". This book offers a chronologically sequenced detalied overview of the band's entire life and times, including recording sessions, record releases, concerts, reviews, and other major events. Drawing on about 100 interviews and research through rarely accessed documents and recordings, it tells stories never previously told from band members, managers, producers, record executives, journalists, concert promoters, and fans. It also offers analysis and insight into the creation of their music, the aspect of the Velvet Underground's legacy that's the most enduring. Rare and little-heard musical tracks by the Velvet Underground, Lou Reed, and other band members will be played to accompany the interview.
