Jim McCarty, drummer and founding member of The Yardbirds, will be joining host Eli Polonsky for a telephone interview beginning at around 12:30 PM!
The Yardbirds were one of the most influential of the British blues-rock bands of the '60s. Formed in London in 1963 from a group previously known as the Metropolitan Blues Quartet, The Yardbirds became known for their innovative rock'n'roll hits as well as for their "rave-up" uptempo cover versions of classic blues songs. Three of rock's most legendary guitarists, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page started their performing careers in The Yardbirds during the 1960s.
McCarty and original bassist Chris Dreja reformed The Yardbirds with new members in the 1990s. They will be making a rare New England appearance this Friday night May 28th at Showcase Live in Foxborough. Listen for your chance to win tickets!
