The Rowan Brothers Perform Live on WMBR's Lost & Found program

The Rowan Brothers, Chris and Lorin Rowan, will be returning to join hosts Larry Miller and Eli Polonsky for a live performance and interview beginning shortly after 12 noon! Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalists Chris and Lorin Rowan were born and raised near Boston, where their brother Peter was making a name for himself in the band Earth Opera. All three brothers had played in folk, bluegrass, and pop bands. Chris and Lorin hooked up with producer and instrumental wizard David Grisman in the early 1970s, and moved to San Francisco. One of their first gigs in the Bay Area was opening for The Grateful Dead at the Fillmore West in 1971. Their first album, "The Rowan Brothers", was released in 1972. Musicians on the album included Grisman, drum legend Jim Keltner, and the Dead's Jerry Garcia and Bill Kreutzmann. The Rowan Brothers have continued to tour extensively in the U.S., Europe and Japan, offering a versatile mix of bluegrass flavored folk and Everly Brothers style rock and country. They will perform at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge on Wednesday, August 6 at 7:00 PM.
