Boston based acoustic folk/blues guitarist-singer-songwriter Geoff Bartley is scheduled for a live telephone interview with host Eli Polonsky at 12:30 PM!
Geoff has been performing since 1969. He has written or co-written songs recorded by artists in New England, Canada, Ireland and Nashville, some included in the Smithsonian Folkways collection in Washington, DC. Geoff's plays regularly with folk legend Tom Paxton, and his music has been used in television programs and films. He won four "guitars" in the National Fingerpicking Championships in Kansas in the 1980s.
Geoff earned the title "Godfather of the Boston folk scene" via decades of hosting the Monday open mic and Tuesday Bluegrass jam at the Cantab Lounge in Cambridge, plus a Sunday acoustic series at Smoken' Joe's BBQ in Brighton.
Geoff will be performing a special concert in the duo "One Sock On" with Howie Tarnower, plus Marylou Ferrante and Alan Kaufman, this Wednesday, March 27, at Johnny D's in Somervile. Listen for your chance to win tickets!
