Barry and the Remains , arguably one of the best overlooked bands of the mid-60s, rocked Boston with their garage rock and roll that attracted major label signings and an opening slot on the Beatles' last US tour in 66. Barry Tashian chronicled the tour in his book Ticket to Ride published in 1996. Tashian, in town to attend the screening of a documentary about the band during this year's Boston Film Festival, will visit WMBR's 3 Ring Circus (3RC). After his stint with The Remains, Tashian went on to play with Graham Parsons' International Submarine Band and performed on Parsons' seminal debut GP. Additionally, he played in Emmy Lou Harris' Hot Band for almost a decade, played session sideman to Charlie Louvin, Nanci Griffith, Iris Dement and others as well as creating award-winning bluegrass in Nashville with his wife Holly Tashian for the past 2 decades. We are thrilled Barry will visit the WMBR studios.
