When WMBR DJ Bob Dubrow doesn't have his kids for Thanksgiving, he finds it amusing to dine, in a musical sense, with the community at large. This time it's for almost 7 hours (we assume with a break for the 5:30 News), because all the deejays regularly on from 4-11pm need coverage. Since he's covering for them, he thinks it appropriate to devote these hours to cover songs. And call it "Gravy." Since gravy (admit it) covers everything on your plate this day as well.
