Singer, songwriter, visual artist Annie Haslam, lead singer of UK classically influenced progressive rock band Renaissance since 1971 and a solo recording artist and performer since 1977, is scheduled to be interviewed by host Eli Polonsky by telephone at 1:00 PM EDT!
Renaissance was formed in 1969 by members of the Yardbirds, Jim McCarty and Keith Relf, following the dissolution of their 1960's incarnation, though that lineup was short-lived. Renaissance regrouped led by Haslam and songwriter-guitarist Michael Dunford in the early 1970's, assembling the "classic" lineup that enjoyed worldwide touring success and radio airplay, and released over a half-dozen acclaimed albums through the decade.
The following decades saw personnel changes, hiatuses and regroupings, with Haslam and Dunford the only constant members. Renaissance regrouped for their 40'th anniversary in 2009 with new highly credentialed veteran musicians, and though Dunford's passing in 2012 left Haslam the only current longtime member, the new incarnation resumed worldwide touring and released their latest CD "Symphony of Light" earlier this year.
Renaissance will be appearing at The Center for Arts in Natick on October 30. Listen for your chance to win tickets.
Location: 88.1 FM
